I could bring my Tow Truck Brunop, just in case the jeep guy's get Schtuck, or too dang crisco'ed and Drunk to get their door open.

1) Probably the same place as last year.

2) Skinwalker lookout is best handled by a 2 man team....I'll take the 9pm-3am shift with whoever wants to spoon with me by the campfire.

3) If I brought my Jeep, I couldn't bring targets...

5) Dang Brunop! I think throwing a buck or 5 into a pot for the King shot winner is a Great idea!!

I wouldn't change a thing in regard to his prep or execution. Many thanks Troy!

The rifle side needs more work to streamline participation in the events.

And as always this gang bang is a work in progress...

I've got more than a couple story's about courage/wits/ & determination getting me back home...And they have never involved a tow truck.

Real Jeeps haven't been produced since `75.

And I totaly agree about the MOG's.

Bad ass vehicle's for sure...But a bit out of my price range.

So, anyhoo...

I was thinking that I'd really like to do the 200 yard plate shoot - the same one they do at FAL Fest and over in North Carolina at Moses' Military Matches:

8 plates measuring 8" x 13". Knock 'em over as fast as possible from prone. Bipods or bags are permitted for shooting off of. The record, IIRC, is 7.91 seconds.

Resetting is a bastard, because running downrange every 8 to 15 seconds sucks. The solution is to have 24 plates set up, and I just happen to have that many being cut from AR500...

I'd also like to do the 100 yard popper match we always do. Mostly so someone can beat Pluskat's time from the other year...

I was thinking that the High Power event (which we didn't do) would be kinda interesting. And we could actually have five or six guys shooting it at once.

Finally, I suggest we actually do a 'Shoot & Move' type of event. Not like the Soldier of Fortune event from a couple of years ago (although that was bitchin'...), but more like an abbreviated 3-gun stage with a couple of walls: with both short range and longer range shots.

Re-setting a target as big as a popper could prove a challenge...Mainly in finding a big enough spring to accomplish the task. I'll put scrounging Clackamas steel at the top of my list after the holidays.

I have some compression springs that might work. When you get to engineering let me know and I'll send you the specs. They are off grain drills and chisel plows/cultivators.

I say the Snowhawk Jockey-approved New Location; it would preclude the full-auto fun, but it would be a smokin' camping spot.

The other place last year was a great place, but after those bikes going through our range I don't have a good feeling about that anymore.

I still want to believe in the ability of our system to know and do what is right. I'm afraid it hasn't been able to for a very, very long time. As far as starting up the group here, I remember you, Erik and Dation were chatting about having a shoot, trying to get interest peaked up, then I came along and suggested the lake here in the center of the state and then it kinda went from there, so, we wouldn't have a shoot if we weren't ALL involved.

We as Oregonians NEED to stick together, I always have my FAL Brothers Backs.

As it is, I am thinking of moving back to Alaska, this lower 48 stuff is getting too sick for my taste. The sheeple tend to stay out of the alaskan bush.

Right now I'm feeling nervous, and like a fool. I still want to believe in the ability of our system to know and do what is right. I'm afraid it hasn't been able to for a very, very long time. I'm going to be absent for what is likely to be a very important time in my lifetime. Not because of my age or glory years, but because of what's happening here at home. As far as starting up the group here, I remember you, Erik and Dation were chatting about having a shoot, trying to get interest peaked up, then I came along and suggested the lake here in the center of the state and then it kinda went from there, so, we wouldn't have a shoot if we weren't ALL involved. We as Oregonians NEED to stick together, I always have my FAL Brothers Backs. As it is, I am thinking of moving back to Alaska, this lower 48 stuff is getting too sick for my taste.
