CZ453
Who else has one of these?
I just picked up a 453 Varmint in .17HMR after shooting a friends off and on for nearly a year. The .17HMR is very fun. I have always been impressed with the fit and finish on the rifle. It appears as the rifle will far outlast me.

After using it the other day, I still think one of my top favorites to use. Works very well.

that's a nice looking little rifle. What's it weigh? I really should get a bolt action rimfire.

I would tell you but the scale is broken right now. A little more with the Harris bipod, as I find it ugly but practical for use out in the field. According to CZ, it is around 6.8 pounds without anything else but rifle. Add the steel CZ rings and scope and occasionally the bipod.
http://www.cz-usa.com/products/view/cz-453-varmint/ It is not that bad though. I was surprised at the ability for this little cartridge to be very accurate out to a good distance for a rimfire. It seems to like the Hornady 17gr. V-Max cartridges the best. I really like the adjustable single set trigger on this one. But I did not have a need to adjust. I liked it so much I left it alone. |

Very nice set up. What are you using for a scope?
I have three 452's in .22. They seem to grow on you. |

Just a Pentax 4-12x40 on CZ steel 1" medium rings with the 11mm dovetail. Not much, but works very well. Will probably get some better optics when some other projects get cleared out. In all honesty, it works well for a rimfire scope.
