Get the lard and the onions,Honey..
Finally shrugged off my back luck. Was feeling like Reuben Soady the last few years. Then, this guy came thru tonight.
![]() ![]() Came thru my food plot, about 80 yards away, about twenty minutes before dark. Used a T/C Black Diamond .50 cal inline. That thing is like a death ray.Not as nice a rack as Texgunners, but he'll taste pretty good nonetheless.. I come home to show my girls...Mom sez "they're inside watching...BAMBI.." I'm like, what the F are you thinking? Showing "Bambi" on November 15th? In Michigan? Thats like a state felony or something.. |

Congrats!! I am sure he will be great eating!!
About T-giving I usually drag all of last year's kill out and make into jerky to make room for this year's harvest. The only twist is I am hoping to have enough to make some summer sausage and maybe some to try to can some as well........a experiment is you will. So I have raised my harvest quota and hope to fire my rifle twice this year!!

RG,
Nice looking Deer! I'll bet your right about the taste...Southern Michigan is full of "Corn Fed" Deer. No question about it muzzleloaders kill exceptionally well. Whats your in line load? I use a 240 XTP Sabot in my TC Inline over 110gr. of Triple7. Most deer Ive hit with my inline go no further than 20 yds with most dying on the spot falling over their own legs. Even Traditional M/L works well with TC Maxi Hunters. I cloverleaf with the 275 grain MH over 80 grains of BP. |

I'm using 100 grain pyrodex pellets,and a 300 grain lead hollowpoints in a black sabot,and a 209 primer.
Where's Spruce Mi. at? |

That is my exact deer load in my Black Diamond. Only I use a musket cap to get things moving. Very deadly... Jolly good show Chap!!!
