I'd have entire company issued either G3 or L1A1.

The fact that they are all walking in the same direction is a major leadership accomplishment.

They should still check the floor and ceiling of the chopper for bullet holes.

What kind of chopper is that, anyway? It's not an MI-8/MI-17, as the intakes are different. French, maybe?

Why aren't people converting?

Not talking religion, here.

There are countries that are still staying with the FALs and G3s instead of going for 5.56x45mm.

Is this a financial reason because they can't afford to buy new rifles?

or

They prefer the 7.62x51mm NATO over the 5.56x45mm NATO because of the vast differences in performance?

NOTE: I see many are carrying the AKs of one type or another. I guess that could be because they are so cheap to buy, supposedly the most reliable, and idiot soldiers proof?

Anyway, so any thoughts?

You guys are too hard. At least the rifles are the same caliber and they have uniforms.

With some of these Third World "armies", its a challange to motivate the Commander to pay and feed his soldiers before he uses the money to take his girlfriend on a vacation to Paris or something.

Can't afford to re-arm.

Maybe they dont need to "Re-Arm". A long time ago.. and in a different life, had experience with "re arming" no not rifles. With countries turning their nose up on equipment not adopted by the US Air Force. Claiming why should they use it, well that equipment they turned down was perfectly suited for their needs. What works is what is needed, and not always what works for some should work for all.

Lotsa luck gettin that inch pattern mag to lock into a metric pattern receiver. I think that I have discovered the reason for losing 100 meters.

Could be a Libyan mag, just not pushed in all the way.. They were metric on top with an inch style bottom.
