Welcome to the ‘Poyer Race Derby’.
They’re at the gate…
(GATES OPENING 1 SECOND, GALLOPING (UNDER))
and they’re off!
Jumping into the lead
is ‘tjdawkins’. ‘tampaguncollector’ is
close behind. Here comes ‘DavidRLane’
followed by ‘tjdawkins’. And ‘tampaguncollector’ is overtaking ‘tjdawkins’. ‘hntrdarren’ is pulling away
but ‘tampaguncollector’ has taken the lead by a length and a half
in the final turn. Here's comes ‘Walther34’ coming on strong..passing the pack is 'tampaguncollector', ‘Walther34’ is not far behind...it's neck and neck... at the wire it's ‘Walther34’

Look on the bright side, that leaves you with what 4.5K to spend on ammo!

Pure insanity but that's just me. It would be like owning a 67 big block Corvette with 0 miles and going out to the garage everyday to sit in a lawn chair & LOOK at it.. Can't sit IN it, you might wrinkle the vinyl... Screw that. I'd sooner buy one with non matching numbers, a few miles on it, & beat it like a red headed stepchild. To each their own I guess. Take that 8k+ & go look at a Poyer in a museum once a month for the rest of your life and use the change to buy a nice clone to shoot till the handguards burst into flames...

I know a guy who has a '62 fuelie, a '67 big block, a '88 convertible and a '11 or '12 ZR-1. He doesn't drive the '53 much.

Now, if someone were to own, say, 20 FALs, why would one need to shoot the Poyer?

Oh I understand it from a collector point of view. I was just offering my opinion as one of the unwashed masses who dosn't have 8k to drop on something you can only look at. I'm an old gearhead. I would pull the "Blue flame 6" out of that 53 Vette in a heartbeat & drop in an all aluminum ZL1 but that's just me.. Some folks get their kicks by looking at & having things nobody else has, others get their kicks by DOING stuff. It's what makes us all different. Out in the shop I've got a 67 Camaro. It's got 4 wheel disc brakes, a 355 that was the spare engine from my old Nascar Pro-Stock, 97 Trans Am seats, fat sticky tires, etc. & I built it all myself. I wouldn't have it any other way..

It's ok I've located a poor mans poyer, found a numbers matching Eden L1A1A on a lithgow reciever with matching upper and lower and bolt, coach wood, it looks amazing, has the milled flat in the reciever, the writing in reciever is even whited out. $3500 Shipped, all lithgow parts, even the barrel, almost perfect condition. And I can shoot it and still have a whole commn wealth gun. Just isn't 922R, o well I'll never sell it

922r only applies to the builder, not possession. If you change any one part you then become the builder. No one has ever been charged with a 922r violation.

There's shooters & there's lookers, and mixes. To each their own. I happen to enjoy both.

If we were on a stamp (Mail) collecting board, nobody would be arguing about whether or not to lick the backs.

Well I've found my poyer, brand new , manual , sling , bayonet brand new magazine , no box or certificate, $6500. I'm going to be shooting it as soon as it gets here, I'm actually happy instead of having one nib I can't use, everything happens for a reason.

WITH no bullshit and the truth shall set me free. I know a guy who has well over 50-60 Garands( I lost count after 3 years ago), and he shoots NONE of it. Hell he gives me the ammo that he gets when they come in as he doesn't want it.

He has two ultra rare gas trap original Garands and they all are oiled, and just displayed in his little man museum.
