FORM 1 & FORM 4 APPROVAL TIMES

I often see posts asking how long approvals take. I found this website that allows you to report your personal experiences so everyone can keep track.

Just a thought but its probably a better way than calling more than once or twice to get status information.

It really depends on what time of the year it is and if the examiner is available or is on sick leave, Vacation or has transferred to another agency or left the Federal Government altogether. Now that it is an Election year, Transfers are being sped up considerably. Guess someone is cracking the whip at NFA Branch lately. OH, Another thing is, If it's a form four transfer, It still takes an F.B.I back ground check as BATFE doesn't have the capability to do the back ground checks, That,s left up to the FBI.

Up until this last one, my F4 times were 15 weeks on the money for 4 straight. My latest went pending in Oct and I am still waiting.

Mine went pending on Oct 11th and STILL as well! We have changed examiners as well and now have a tri-state examiner....story around here is approx. 170 days from pending.........I should be ANYDAY, IF that holds TRUE!!!

A buddy of mine called the ATF tha other day and he was told that due to the shortage of examiners and the amount of transfers, current wait is seven to eight months...and it will increase.

I have a Bridgeport M1A1 in transfer. This may be my last for a while. You soon run out of time to wait. This recession sure messed things up!!

my form 1 sbr app was mailed 10-2-11, pending date 10-29-11, received stamp 4-4-12, five months, what else can a person do.

I've got one form for that went pending Nov25, nothing yet. My other went pending Jan30, THAT one will be awhile. Now I'm waiting for the Form 3 to my dealer on my M16. Then the wait on the form 4!!!

Wow, I guess luck was on my side for my recent form 4 (SBR).

Pending on February 10th 2012 and approved on April 6th.

Although my 3 forms last year (2-form 4's and 1- form 1) averaged about 40 days each.

My form 1 went pending on January 17th on my M2 carbine. According to the link on the tracker site I'm looking at probably, oh sometime in AUGUST??????? Holy crap. I was hoping for late May to mid June. Maybe I'll beat the new stats.

My last Form 1 was mailed 2/14. It went pending 3/29. I received my stamp yesterday, 8/17. In round numbers; 6 months.

I'm still waiting for a Form 4 that was mailed in April.

I sent my papers in 2/20 and received my stamp 8/20.....damn near exactly 6mo. First one too!!!!

Current sheriff wont sign for anybody

. I guess a couple of years for my stamp, until election time for a new sheriff.
