He is not paralyzed and will likely be able to walk again, his mother told the newspaper.

The problem here is the math is done by the stunt coordinator. The stunt man is just supposed to have faith.

It is possible the stunt man decided to be macho and hit the ramp at a much higher speed than he was supposed to, but if he was following instructions, then the failure was not his. (Unless you consider choosing a career as a stunt man to be an error in itself)
