"Invisible Depression"

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/the...vestinginsight

More and more reporting on what we have talked about for the last 4 years - maybe it's time to start getting bullish:-)

Here's what jumped out at me: Half of all jobs in America pay $34,000 or less - WTF, we have a HUGE standard of living adjustment coming when all the skittles run out and people have to make it on their own sans govt cheese...

God almighty, you love this Schadenfreude stuff. Tax the rich, much higher and spend money on our schools, infrastructure and mass transit. Eliminate the subsidies for Citi, Chase, BoA, Wells and big oil. That will cure the economy.

You're delusional if you believe that Bill or have a profound misunderstanding
of what happens when astronomical credit bubbles blow up - it's been about 80 years since the last one of this magnitude went super nova - hope you are more prepared than your rhetoric leads one to believe...

Tax everyone equally. 49% of folks don't pay at all. Eliminate all loopholes. Get government out of indoctrination, I mean education. Throwing more money at a problem has never worked. Eliminate welfare to the big banks and big oil but be prepared for trickle down economics to trickle back to consumers. Fees will go up. Gas will go up. That's fine. At least the situation is real. The economy will never see the prosperity of the past because it was based on unprecedented debt expansion. There is no cure.

The cure is coming.
A collapse of all the unsustainable spending, including public education and services and ALL subsides.

We have just started this ride down.

Yep, tax the rich, waste the money. It's working great, so why change a thing.

I'm always puzzled why WASTE never enters a tax conversation. Too hard to prevent? Time to get someone that can.

Yes indeed about eighty years since we allowed our country to follow your Republican nonsense on finance. The Republicans in Congress have done literally nothing for the middle class in 40 years. Now, you whine and chant about going bullish on the same financial schemes of the 1920's.

And, I have been prepared since 2000. It was obvious what the Republicans were going to do and did. You sound so much like Andrew Mellon and the like.

"Cure" the economy? At the most, that would kick the can down the road some.

If all that would work, why are the European countries in trouble?Shouldn't Greece be paradise??

Socialism is great........until you run out of other peoples money.

If we had lived within our means and not blew a gigantic credit bubble by partying today and worrying about the bill tomorrow,we wouldn't be in such a mess.Unfortunately, tomorrow is here and the bill is due.

Yes you are correct a Conservative Government and it's allowing Banks to finance
Stocks caused the Crash in 1929. Hoover tried to tax his way out of the disaster
and it failed miserably. So you would suggest that we try that again?

Yes, giving away vast amounts of taxpayer funds is the fastest
way to get it back into the economy.

Whining does not help your arguments.

With Glass-Stegal in place, without the Commodities Futures Modernization Act, with a strong SEC and a committed Federal enforcement structure we did not have these financial crisises 'since the last one of this magnitude went super nova'. We followed the sound financial reforms of the New Deal and Republicans went ape shit crazy to repeal it.

You got your wish. Now, you rant about debt like it was the family debt and it is not anything close to that. But, you do want the elite million plus earners to lower your wages and get you again into the Wall Street casino.

Those on top will always try to rig the system so they cannot fail. Every time they go to far in trying to protect themselves. This is one of those times.

But, all of you whine, worry about debt and cry like babies now when you should have been yelling your lungs out at W. The same moneyed interests behind Bush are behind Romney. Funny how all that worked out.

Obama is far too conservative for my taste. But, he will see the way in his next term. Change is coming.

At this point it really does not matter who is president, we're on the same path we went down in the 1930's, the die is cast - the only question is how the next world war plays out - all IMHO of course.

The disaster was from 1930 to 1933. Then your party went into exile.

And, had the Bush tax decreases been repealed, a true stimulus passed and common sense prevailed in the House and Senate, it would have cut the deficit in half.

But, Republicans insist on paranoid fantasies, kooky economic nonsense and the internet to provide them the dark view of America you hold.

This may continue if Koch Industries has its way. Lower wages and lower skilled jobs will be in greater demand than today. When right wing voters worry more about where Obama went to school than what mischief the World Trade Organization is up to, there is little hope they will change.

Wow...strange...I seem to recall a democrat majority for two solid years...
Could have accomplished much good...were they not COMMUNISTS....
You "disaster" was all the way to '40.

It is impossible for Dabtl to negotiate his finger pointing and laying blame through the maze of Democrat hypocrisy without constantly running into a contradictions and dead ends.

Yup. He's right. Neo Cons weren't screaming about the debt until Obama was elected. It has since doubled, but the first 8 trillion is cool cuz it's what their guy wanted. Garbage. The same moneyed interest that were behind Bush are behind Romney, but if one digs a little deeper they'll see they're behind Obama too. Hmmm. I wonder what that means...

Romney is at a four to one advantage in donations from bankers and Wall Street now. Wonder why

The answer, of course, is Bush set the tax code for disaster with low taxes for bankers and Wall Street. They have used the tea party to block any change. Adding to the deficit was a natural after Bush left because spending on defense and stuff is sacred.

Military spending is waste. Waste.

Public transit, public schools are low on the list of priorities. Cutting wages for workers to enhance corporate profits tops our list now. Helping India grow has greater interest than fixing our roads.

Any change from this path is met with cries of socialism, freedom and other wingnut crap. Doubling down on austerity is the way the middle class pays for Romney's next tax cut.

Because Wall St has used Obama all he is good for.

They have a lap dog in Geithner who not only does whatever Wall St asks, but ignores crimes such as Liebor even when shoved into his face.....other than writing a memo.

A total spineless wimp in form of d*ck Holder. Not only does he not prosecute financial crimes, he defuses any that become too blatant like robosigning.

So it is time to trade in the old worn out wrinkled whore Obama for a fresh faced one.

Sorry but it is LIBOR and BoA got the subpoenas on Friday. This is the end. Either the banks survive or the people.

Usually witicisms are a sign of intelligence and it was an apropos play on words in my estimation. I just can't undertsand why you would correct him if you knew he did it intentionally.

I'm not looking to get in a pissing match here, but it was funny by most normal people's standards.

I've give you that...
Thing is;old dabs crowed from the mountain how obama husseein was going to do this and do that, when in reality,he has done just about everything humanly possible to further gum up the economy. He's done what pretty much what you'd expect a marxist from kenya to do.And he had a willing legislature to boot.
The further we go,the more massive the govt. spending cuts will have to be. Think 75-90% cuts, across the board.

Please, carry on...

So far your party has done nothing. The House is in session 109 days per year and has passed no legislation of any sort, other than 'The Ryan Budget' which is not a budget or plan, just a way of increasing the wealth of the richest in America. Your faithful tea party base is looking for earmarks and pork to justify their existence in the Congress with its Rolls Royce health care, big salary and low, low work threshold.

By the way, your brilliant understanding of 'what you'd expect a marxist from kenya to do.' leads me to ask you to further expand on this brilliant insight of yours and list all those things you expect from 'a marxist from kenya to do.' Your level of intelligence maybe higher than others here but your understanding of writing in English appears limited to lower case proper names and such. But, it should be fun to watch you try to explain what all that hot air you spout means.

Why should I dignify a marxist from kenya by capitalizing?
Aside..I am not a "republican",never registered..
If and when I vote,I tend to vote for that which will lead us away from the socialist/marxist/communist path which many here seem so intent to follow.

LIEsomeMORE.

Obama and his banking toadies are not going to take down any big bank.

How many years of petty wrist slaps, and ignoring the crimes of Drug Money Laundering, Fraudulent Accounting, Bond Rigging, Document Fraud and Outright Theft of Customer"s Funds do you need to witness before to realize that?

And neither will their new whore Romney.

Now civil cases might be another story combined with all the big banks obvious insolvency.

OK, genius. Tell us in detail your deep insights into what President Obama, a 'marxist from kenya' has done versus 1) a non-Marxist Kenyan would do and 2) what a Kenyan non-Marxist would do.

I know you must have some brilliant insights into the things the 'marxist from kenya' Obama has done to America.

Pardon my laughter in advance at your response.

I suspect you are correct. It is difficult at best to find common ground with Dick Armey, Paul Ryan, Randy Paul, Louie Gohmert, Mitch McConnell and other insane perverted Koch suckers. (Since rowjimmy thinks this stuff is humor, I included the last portion)

And, since substance is simply the froth on the tea party nonsense about not conservative enough, it came as no surprise to me.

McConnell, of course, said his main goal was one term for President Obama. It appears he will get a landslide win for Obama instead. It should have been the other way around. But, Republicans are not known for being smart or clever.
