Liquid dish soap works well against ants.
But for thhigs that sting or ants, it all starts at the nest. As you know it helps to kill the queen as well. Had black ants in the kitchen the last few summers. Haven't seen any to speak of this summer. Last summer, decided to replace the sill on the kitchen window. Wound up replacing several shingles beneath the window and found a bunch of ants,,,some toxic chemicals and some new wood, ant prob fixed,,,for the time being. |

We had a similar instance with ants in my house this summer. 50/50 white vinegar and water. Spray it where they are coming in or where they congregate and wipe it in. do it every other day for a week and they will be gone. They don't like it. It only smells like vinegar in the kitchen for about 5 minutes afterward. We went this route because of pets and our young kids.

Are they circling the wagons or do you have alien ants making crop circles?

Honey and yeast mixture. They will simply blow up. Safe for household pets unless you keep a giant ant as one.
Also save back the leftover mixture and make some mead.

I have heard that sometiemes placing cut up cucumbers will turn some insect/ant speceis away...... there also used to be some natural pepper soap and widex with ammonia tends to get them..... good luck....

I have replaced 3 light switches outside in my reloading shed and shooting cover. Why are the tiny black ants inhabiting my switches? Are they attracted to the current? I flip the switch and they sizzle. Then the lights wont come on.

Raspberry ants ? Not really any good way to deal with them yet. But I'd try different sprays to try and abade it. If they set up a real nest... you'll be wishing for fireants. |
