I have no problem taxing the rich or corporations. Corning comes to mind. You probably weep for the poor thing paying all those taxes for other people's benefit. However, Corning has paid not any US income taxes for four years. But, Susan Ford made the weepy case that if Corning brought in country earnings from outside the US it would HAVE to pay income taxes. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/22/op...ment.html?_r=1

We can easily pay for health care but we cannot do so with wasted wars and letting the rich get richer at our expense.

I think this is just cold truth. You think it hysteria. So?

So why isn't Greece your liberal wet dream??

All the entitlements, short work week, early retirement,no wars,etc..........are they just not taxing "the rich" enough??

The corporations have the politicians bought and paid for (yes, your precious D's too),so keep hoping for change..........

Typical liberal "professor" bullshit.

From the article:
"The fraud cannot be reduced much less eliminated. First, there are no regulators to stop it, and no prosecutors to punish it. But, far more importantly, fraud is the business model. Further, even if a financial institution tried to buck the trend it would fail. As Bill says, fraud is always the most profitable game in town. So Gresham’s Law dynamics ensure that fraud is the only game in town".

Politics is the only thing holding back prosecutions.Denninger has laid out the illegal activity at least a couple times-all it needs is politicians that aren't bought and paid for to do the right thing..........."crickets".

Obama talked a good game, but is bought and paid for like the rest-Romney and Obama are both bought and paid for and wont do whats right for the country,so we are screwed.

You can talk the talk, but it is still all blow and no go. The criminal laws were modified, changed and repealed. The enforcement agencies stripped of people and funding can do little. But we have FREEDOM!

Never ever liked the Gritty Lions, thanks. How about criticizing your failure of a president?? Come on, just once. (Although you could do it all night if you were bright enough, and not brainwashed).

I suspect you have not read my posts wherein I opined Obama is not left wing enough and gives the Wall Street and bankers too much leeway.

Glad to see one person from Penn with a brain. Never saw one before.

If you think the report on Paterno is something you should research the liberal piece of shit that presented it. look up Louis Free and the appointment by blow-job Bill, the sanctions and reports of incompetence on Ruby Ridge, Waco, the 1996 Olympic leak and the Vince Forster debacle, he was cited as incompetent and has his share of documented coverups, seems he misses the limelight as much as DABTL, I am not a Penn State Fan just do not like seeing a issued tarnished by a governmental piece of garbage

I enjoy the shear creative irrationality of his posts.

Sort of like viewing a Fellini Film.

You sell fear, failure and decline in every post. This has gone on for at least four years since you got out of building houses no one needed. It is amazing you did not forecast the financial disaster of 2008.

Sorry but I was prepared for the economic disaster and have done reasonably well. I also think the country is being sucked into the vortex of the richest with our government acting as funnel for the money to their pockets.

But, there is hope for this country. I could care less about Spain and how it will impact Chase or BoA. But, I am not in favor of bailing out Jamie Dimon again or helping Goldman. I also favor raising taxes on the rich.

You may enjoy being manipulated by Koch Industries or some other such group telling you about FREEDOM and picking your pocket at the same time. I could care less about some hedge fund manager's view of the universe.

So it goes.

I did forecast it Bill - or rather Denninger et al did and I reported what they were saying - you'll remember that I pulled completely out of the stock market in Nov of 2007. You think I'm selling fear? or is it you are just afraid of what I'm saying... I am far from the only one that see's what is going on and I sure wasn't the first one to mention it here on the Files. If you choose to ignore history so you can stay all warm and fuzzy, clinging to your normalcy bias, then that is your problem - I'm not sure where you picked up this "freedom" meme but I assure you we are not free - under either party.

I can assure you that FREEDOM is always the wingnut claim to history. But, of course, you know that.

Everything you post is doom, gloom and disaster forecasts. I happen to think we are better than that.

And, if Republicans gave a damn, they would change their ways in mass. Democrats do not have such screwed vision of America. They also face a base that is not going to put up with much more.

So it goes.
