New gunshow find!!!

I picked these two revolvers up at the local Kokomo, IN gunshow. The longer barreled one is a .38 S&W Webley that looks nearly unissued. Very nice "war finish" indeed. The snub nosed one is a Webley New South Wales Police 2" original in .450 Webley/Adams caliber. Now, where's that Aussie we got on the Files!!

Sorry for the bad pic, but I am leaving and just wanted to snap a quick shot for the masses.

You would not show up with some strange stuff would you? I'm kind of liking that old snub, real old school!

I may be mistaken but I believe that ammo for the old .450 revolver is still available. Fiocchi produces the old .450 Boxer cartridge which was the first British military metallic cartridge introduced circa 1867. This is a very underpowered cartridge for military use and it was replaced with the .476 Enfield used in the Model 1876 Enfield DA revolver.

The British put a lot of different names on their service cartridges back then. I believe that the .450 Boxer is also known as the .450 Webley and .450 Adams. Just as the .455 Webley was known as the .455 Eley and .455 Colt in Canada.....

And so it goes.

Some of those Webley's had the cylinder machined down so they could use 45 acp with half moon clips.

Your .38 looks like it has some front sight adjustment. It and the police are good finds!
