Preferential treatment?

I believe I posted the original story on this some time ago. Anyway, a local Boulder police officer that had served in Iraq brought back a few toys with him and tried to sell them.

Trial and so on is finished. For stealing military silencers and then bringing them back to the US and selling them he gets probation.

http://www.9news.com/news/local/arti...Army-silencers

"A former Boulder police officer accused of helping to sell Army-issued rifle silencers has been sentenced to three years of probation, including six months of home detention.

Eric Lee was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty earlier this year to possession of an unregistered silencer.

Court documents say Lee served in the Army from 2004 to 2009 before joining the Colorado Army National Guard. He was accused of bringing silencers home from Iraq in 2006 without authorization and giving some of them to fellow guardsman Matthew Laflin, who was accused of selling them to a federal informant.

The Denver Post reports (http://bit.ly/PfaUgw) Lee's attorney had argued against a prison sentence, saying Lee could've faced abuse from other inmates as a former police officer."

I have a feeling that if anyone else did this they would have been in club fed some time ago.

So much for the old saying "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.".

Of course....cops get away with actual murder all the time. Hence, the existence of sites such as http://www.copwatch.net/forums/

That's why there are different 'laws' (so says the pork, anyway) about photographing THEM, vs anyone else. Same goes for lying. Different 'laws' for the King's Men.
