$800 STG barrel

As far as I know it's not the same one. The guy who was selling one here lists his location as MN. It's not for me to say who that was. If he wants to pop in here on this thread that's his business. He told me privately that he pulled the ad due to people telling him his price was out of line. I had asked a couple questions about it on his thread and my post was deleted by a "mod gone wild" ( I have an idea who) without even the courtesy of a pm telling me why. Even the seller had no clue why he did that but whatever.. I sent him a PM to ask if there was a problem with my questions and he assured me there was not. Another well respected mod tried to restore my post but by then the whole thread was gone. Funny stuff going on here these days and not all of it good. The one on GB is listed as being in the wrapper & the one here was not. The seller of the gunbroker barrel is in LA.

Unbelievable... I asked the seller if he had a problem with my questions . His response was that he had NO problem with it whatsoever and that he had no clue why it would have been deleted. He felt my questions were legitimate. Then I had another moderator PM me to tell me that he also saw nothing at all out of line with my questions and tried to restore my post but by then the OP had deleted the entire thread for other reasons. So yeah, I think you're wrong on this one and overstepped your authority. It was a legitimate question to ask due to the fact that it is a near record price for a barrel and the fact that there was no written description to explain the premium price. If I had said it was too high or posted that they could be found cheaper elsewhere that would have been trolling. What I posted was not. I even speculated that it might be a NOS para barrel which would indicate that I feel the price was in line for such a rare barrel. I also feel it was pretty damn inconsiderate to not even bother to send me a PM and tell me why it was deleted. I don't expect you to admit your mistake or an apology but the simple fact that the OP AND another moderator felt I did nothing out of line speaks volumes... The "Trigger happy" quote under your username fits you. So if I understand your logic correctly someone puts up say, a parts kit for $3000 in the marketplace. No written description saying what country it's from or any other details, just a couple pics. Guys aren't allowed to ask what makes it so special to command such a higher than normal price or ask for details about it's origin ? Not allowing that type of technical question does a huge disservice to the seller as well as anyone else who might be a potential buyer. No offense sir, but you are taking this way too far. Petty crap like this is NOT what the falfiles is about.

Someone thought something was wrong because it came to me through the notification system. I responded by deleting post 2 & 3. Although your post on it's own doesn't appear all that bad it followed "$800 "... I deleted both posts and moved on. I usually post if I delete something. Seller deleted his ad for a reason, I suspect it was the questions. Whole thing reminds me of an expensive G kit recently. Deleted a bunch there too....

Well,

The add did need a better discription so questions were called for. That being said poeple telling him his price is out of line need to shut up and not buy the thing. When it doesn't sell he'll figure it out and drop the price.

In addition some of the Mods need refresher training. Crappy Mods can kill a site pretty quick.

No offense but the first part of your post is ridiculous. It's like selling a used car but you won't let anyone look under the hood. Questions have ALWAYS been allowed, in fact most sellers will encourage that questions be asked. Doing it in the open on the thread gets those same answers posted for all to see. It is a huge help for all concerned if all the facts are on the table. The second comment you made is of course, how it's always been and should remain. Telling someone their price is out of line has NEVER been allowed. You are trying to take 2 entirely different issues and roll them into one and that dosn't fly.
