Their Mexican workers don't complain so they get rewarded with a holiday celebration.

We get some migrant workers up this way picking broccoli and even planting trees for reforesting. It's a hard life doing that for a living. Up way before light and working way into dark. Bent over all day cutting broccoli and packing it right in the fields.

Anyway in the last couple of years I have noticed several of the broccoli harvesting platforms with big Mexican flags flying right along side of the United States flag. This is something new and it struck me kind of odd at first. As I am not use to seeing the Mexican flag up this way.

I am use to seeing the Canadian flag being so close to the border. I can go in about any American town up here and see businesses flying the Canadian flag right along side of the American flag. Malls, small shops, fast food joints, town squares and even a couple of the VFW posts fly the maple leaf, (of course the VFW posts are doing it in honor of Canada's vets that fought and died with us). The Maple Leaf is every where around here! Being this far north we have the Maritime Provence's on one side of us and Quebec on the other. New Brunswick and Quebec meet right above me. We are basicly surrounded Lol! Heck there are towns in the U.S. just to the north of me where I can walk into a McDonalds and the greeting will be french until they figure out I don't speak french.

Edited to add: Some of those towns have road signs in both English and French.

yeah here in Northern Vermont same deal not unusual to see Canadian flag flown with the US and state flag. good chunk of the population here has relitives just over the border and the Canadians spend alot down here.
that being said i think its BS that they recognize one but not the other.

Yep, been to nearly every race they ever had at NHMS & they play the American national anthem & the Canadian national anthem prior to the race. Down here in TN at the Bristol track I imagine they play Dixie..
