Falcon HTS sets?
I have always used either FSE or DSA HTS sets. I don't believe I have ever used a set made by Falcon. Are they any good. Any problems I should know about? Would the latest manufactured DSA sets be better?
Any and all opinions wanted. Thank You!

I've ussed about a half dozen of theirs. I have never experienced a problem.

I have a Falcon HTS set in one of my rifles. It works fine. Originally I had a DSA HTS set but that seemed to double fire on occasion. No problems since going with Falcon.

I have an Inch set waiting a Brit build. Coonan, you hearing this?
Other than the parts "look" pretty, that's not much help, I'm afraid. The Falcon set is the only game in town for Inch, I believe. I think Gunplumber said they were "mediocre" at one time, but can't find the thread. They have been making HTS sets since 2005 and their TPR kit seems to work OK. I don't see much written about the quality, either positive or negative. Origionals are best, stick a Mose's Mag in it.

Moses mags seem to be kept by unicorns. I have heard about them for it seems like years. Never seen one.

I want to thank you all for the replies and info.
Mainer; Working on a nice inch kit I envy you. I always liked the way they looked but everything I have is metric and I never made the jump into inch. You are right the original HTS is the way to go if I can. I really hate to go the mag route with all my sons running in an out of here. One is liable to take the wrong gun and mag combo while I am not around. I hope the weather is better down your way. Been raining for a week and suppose to for another. The potato's fields are getting flooded. Even my blueberries have had enough. Once again everyone thank you for the info. ![]()

Skeeterbay, I haven't had to water anything yet this year. The Blueberry bushes are loaded , look like grape clusters. If I can keep the critters out of them, might have Blueberrry Pancakes all next winter. Everything is green as can be, beginning to look swampy, moss and toadstools growing well. I do think the sun came out today about 15 minutes before it went down.
Heard about the Bear breaking into the Bakery at Easton Center and eating all the Whoopie Pies and topping it off with a bucket of lard. He must have enjoyed that feast. Don't think the owner's are amused and no insurance with those folks either. I heard he charged at the first shot and it took four more to put him down. Unusual for a Blackie, he might have just tried to escape and picked the wrong direction.

You know it's pretty bad when I have to get my local news from you all the way down there
I didn't hear a thing about the bear break in. Odd for it being so close to my house. I shop there about once a month. Pretty secure building for a bear break in. Don't doubt it took four shots what with the bear running around that little store and them with no lights. Was it one of the women that did the shooting or the men folk? My wife keeps a loaded 45-70 handy for such things. She shoots it pretty good for a 60 year old woman of her size. The other night I went to turn off the chicken coop lights at about 11pm and I encountered about a 200 pounder outside the coop door. I grabbed a round pointed shovel that was leaning against another building and shooed him away with it. He left in a hurry and I followed him into the woods just enough to keep him moving. Good thing for him cause I would have bloodied his nose with that shovel if he hadn't of ran. Going to have to start carrying a flashlite out there at night as it took me a minute to notice him standing there in the shadows. I am sure the old chicken feed brought him around. It's the second one this year. My old hound ran one out of my lawn earlier this spring. Edited to add: I bet that really wrecked that place with the shelving they had! Must of been an awful mess and a total loss for them folks. I guess next week I will have to step over a blood stain just to get my pies. Probably a special on mince meat Lol!

I have a very reliable news scource in The County, I call her Mom. She knows everybody, except for new folks that only been there 50 years or less.
I heard the bear was shot by local hunters, whatever that means. I quess the Amish don't hunt? They figgered he would be back for more Whoopie Pies and they were waiting. My sister saw another one on Rte 1 in Westfield yesterday. Getting to where it's a good idea to check outside before leaving the house.

The falcon FCG are fine - they are rougher and it helps to stone the engagement surfaces to remove the heavy mold marks, but they work fine.
(Just don't use the POS falcon spring)

It's been a year or two since I have bought any, but I have had issues in the past with the trigger being too wide to fit in the slot in the lower (filed down easily), and hammer out of spec (found by swapping each part with oem to isolate parts, worked with oem hammer, but got hammer follow with falcon hammer). Scared me into buying nothing but FSE.

Glad you mentioned their springs are not the best. I was looking at one of their spring kits just to have some spares.

They are still around, but the only FAL item is a nice looking US made Belgian style Flash Hider.
http://www.fseusa.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=344 I think they stopped making HTS when Harold retired or quit or...? Gunplumber, thanks for the tip on the bum spring and rough surfaces.
