Korean Made FAL magazines
Aimsurplus used to sell these, and I discovered other vendors still selling them.
DSA magazines cost $18.00 each while the Korean ones cost $15.00 each. Does anyone has any feedback or input on these Korean made FAL magazines? THank you. |

Don't waste your money on DSA or Korean mags....... Both are of questionable quality at best........ The ONLY mags you can count on are original FN or contract mags
If you need mags post a WTB ad in the marketplace

I bought three 25 round DSA mags to try out. I was just curious and wanted to see for myself. I am letting them set for a couple of weeks loaded as others have found this to be helpful. I should have a review of them at the end of next week. These will be the first DSA mags I have ever tried other than the 5 round hunting mags that I bought back in 06. I still have big old box of surplus mags I bought from Tapco way back when for something like $2.25 a piece.

Loaded and "ready" to go when really needed. Just hope they aren't in a bad mood when you need them most. Does anybody else see a problem with this?

The Korean mags worked "pretty good" in my rifle.
See http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showt...ghlight=Korean Others have had varying results.

WEG, Your are correct I wouldn't stake my life on mags with reported problems. However, like I said I bought them for no other reason than to give them a try. I have PLENTY of used surplus mags and even some new surplus mags laying around here. I just bought three of the 25 rounders to satisfy my own curiosity and because I had never handled 25 round Fal mags before. When Moses comes out with his I will buy some of them to check out as well.

I purchased 10 Korean mags from cddn. None functioned in my rifles. Ftf, fte, ect. Sent them all back. I since have used primarily DSA 20 rounders without any problems. Obviously people have had problems with them, just not my experience. I never have left any of them loaded either. If anyone has some they want to sell on the cheap, pm me.

I put 20 in them. I just went out this evening and topped off two DSA mags after some accuracy shooting, and had some fun! She was smok'n. Im really confused why some are having problems with them and others are not.

My SA58 doesn't seem to have too much of an issue with the DSA mags. They just don't like to cycle by hand for some reason without some Dremel/sanding sponge work on the feed lips and followers. |

I have 6 Korean Mags.. None of them worked initialy.
As listed above I ground the tab down with the Dremel Tool and sanded the back down ever so slightly. After that they worked just fine. Granted its an inconveniance. But there arent many spare FAL mags in my area at the local funshows so I have to make due. |

DSA STG58. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have some good surplus ones, but as mentioned, they are not so easy to come by. I just recently put an alloy lower on it, and today took off the quad rail. Feels really light now.

FWIW: You might not be able to find case lots of surplus mags for sale much anymore, but you can still find them one or two at a time for sale. That may be the way to pick them up. Just keep an eye out on the net and locally. Pick them up in small lots until you have what you need.

Ok, I have now had multiple ftf with DSA 20 rounders fully topped off. I guess I will have to download them. Why 18 vs 19?

If your Truly Ninja-tacti-cool, you only load 18 like LAV.

Does it help to leave mags loaded? I mean, I'm not going to rely on them now at this point, but will loading them up and leaving them help any with their function?

If you want to load a mag, and shoot from it for function testing, do it. But loading a mag, and leaving it that way for an arbitrary time period to check functioning is silly. Either a mag functions, or it doesn't.

for what its worth my kci mag sat fully loaded for 4 months. i was not trying to do a test i had it loaded with factory ammo and had been shooting my reloads.
took it to the range last weekend and it worked fine. all 20 fed and fired and ejected and the bolt stayed open after the last round. it is still alittle tight going in and out but it does not get that much use since i got some dsa 20 rnd that have also been flawless. |

Can't Find Korean FAL magazines any where
Apparently, they are all sold out.
I looked and looked and looked, but they are not to be found. I guess this is the last of them. DS Arms are not supplying any of theirs either with the exception of the 25 and 30 rounders at AimSurplus.com. I guess the final alternative now is the Thermold FAL magazines. Can I get your input on these products? Thank you. |
