Para Stock Fit Problem - Screw Head to Large
I have a Rhodie para lower and what I was told is a Falcon Arms para stock. I actually got the stock off of the "Pay it Forward" thread in Market section a couple of months ago (thanks Mr. JayJay
) but I digress. I bought a para pivot block connecting screw from DSA but it doesn't fit. The head of the screw is to large and won't countersink into the hole in the stock. Any suggestions on how to fix this. I try to follow the adage of modify the cheapest part first so I am thinking of chucking the screw in my drill press (I don't own a metal lathe or an end mill ) and filing down the diameter of the screw head. Any suggestions?

Hi G3isMe,
I have the FALCON para stock in one of my FAL and that screw from DSA is different, you may want to get the screw that fits from FALCON; http://falconarms.com/index.php?rout...product_id=138 I hope this helps!

LOL, yeah me too. Was it that obvious. If I had known ahead of time I would have ordered it from Falcon. WTH would they not make something like that a standard size? Hi Ho Hi Ho, off to the drill press we go...

I have one of mountainman's "custom" para bolts that has a head that is too big for a DSA folder.

Picked up a DSA Hampton para lower to put on my Imbel para and discovered that the size screw/bolt that DSA uses to mount the folder to the lower is smaller than the Imbel screw/bolt.
So called up DSA and ordered one of there screw/bolts and it mounted right up.

There are a couple sizes and threads - 9/16x32 and 17/32x36, depending on whether it is a purpose built para lower or a retrofit.
The Falcon is a piece of shit that doesn't even fit the falcon lower. Thread length is too long and it bottoms out before the head engages. For lack of a lathe, chuck in drill and turn against belt sander.
