Moses: I just did some math, and I'm fairly certain your estimated 2,000 unit run (iirc) is way too low...
Just judging by those who've voted in the poll (at time of posting), you'll need exactly 3108 mags to fulfill all the current interest.... Math used: (21x1)+(91x2)+(225x5)+(178x10)= 3108 21 + 182 + 1125 + 1780 = 3108 ([number of voters] x [quantity requested]) + ([[next set]]) My suggestion: A production run of 3500 mags, with the remainder left as parts/inventory. - CK

I am sure some members are just waiting to see the end product before they commit. My guess is you will be swamped with orders once a few people get them in their hands.

Absolutely. You'll sell a metric buttload once you announce availability and word gets around how good they are.

We are having a prototype made of the mag with the latest changes, before we actually modify the molds.
It should be in hand in the next few days or early next week. This should tell us what we need to know..... hopefully! It is a process that will make one mag body and makes it out of very similar material to what we will be using on the production mags. It's called SLS prototyping Here is some info on it if interested. http://www.protocam.com/html/sls.html Hurry up and wait!!!! CeeKay, believe me I have done the math, and I have also had many people tell me if they work great they will be buying a lot more than 10 mags. I also know that a lot of the people who said they will buy however many mags won't buy any, ask Gunplumber for the percentages on how many actually buy what they say they will on a poll like this. That being said if they work like I expect them to work I assume I will sell a lot more than 4000 mags!! However due to finances I will have to limit the first production run to how many I can afford to make on the first production run. I should be able to have the second run produced pretty quickly after the first run and should have the finances available from the money I take in from the initial run. Nothing is in stone yet so no reason to fret at this point. Updates to follow as I get the info!!!!! Thanks for all the support everyone!!!

Latest prototype is in and I will be examining it tomorrow.
Hopefully everything will be as it should and they will be starting on the modifications to the actual mold!

Er, Moses, given the events of this past Thursday-Friday in Colorado, may I suggest it might be a good idea to put this project into maximum overdrive/firewalled throttle/full afterburner/balls to the wall mode at current? Otherwise, if legislation gets passed, you might discover that you have dumped a bunch of money and time into a project and product that you are no longer able to legally sell. A lot of magazine manufacturers went belly up after the 1994 ban.
Just a thought... |

Who said anything about panic?
It's called being prepared. If Moses moves this up to absolute top priority, the least that will happen is everyone has mags to buy soon even if legislation doesn't get passed. Those mags could then be bought by members or potentially even sold as factory mags to RRA, DSA, KelTec, etc., etc.
At worst, if he moves it up and gets it done in time but a ban is passed, he sells out the first batch or two and makes all his money back (as it sounds from reading this thread that he's structured it that way) before the deadline comes up. There's no real downside to being cautious and accelerating this just in case. If it's a matter of money to make the project go faster, there doesn't seem to be any shortage of persons on this thread offering to invest in the enterprise. |

The mags should be ready before the election if things go well.
I am pretty sure with the latest changes we are making to the molds that the magazine body should be coming out of the mold as it needs to be dimension wise. Believe me this project is in "maximum overdrive" I am not the only customer the mold company has so I am relegated to their time frame. I am in just as much of a hurry as everyone else is to get these mags finished! We've studied and examined the latest prototype and are confident we have everything as it needs to be, just have to wait on the molds to be modified or remade now, I am hoping to have the latest generation of the moses mag in my hands in the next 4 to 6 weeks, just depends on the how long it takes the mold company to do the work.

We may not have that much time. This was just tacked onto the cybersecurity bill today.
http://thehill.com/video/senate/2406...ontrol-measure And the Congressional Record link: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CREC-20...1-3.pdf#page=2 Quote:
How much money do you need to get the mold maker to put a rush on this instead of making it standard priority? Most such companies are just doing it slow because they can get away with it, and will cheerfully move you up and speed up your work for a rush fee. Others have mentioned they would cheerfully invest - perhaps you could enquire? You can count me in for at least 5 and more likely 10 if we can get these before the (potential) ban. I will cheerfully send you the money for the 5 as a deposit (at the anticipated ~$25 price) to prove I'm serious, if that's needed. Last edited by Spktyr; July 27, 2012 at 03:49. |

I'm in for 5 20s right away, with an option for a mess more if they're solid performers. I'd look at 20 and 25 rounders, but probably stick with the 20s...

To be honest, I think the US needs to pass a bill that would nullify bills with stupid shit tacked on.... Why?
Because what do firearm magazines have to do with CYBERSECURITY!? I think it should be so that when a moot or irrelevant point is added to a bill, the bill is instantly nixed and shredded, and thrown off the floor. But, that would make too much sense for the Government. :\ New tax bill? ADD VEHICLE HEADLIGHT COLOR RESTRICTIONS!!!!!! New anti-crime bill? ADD A PARAMETER BANNING CIGARETTE SMOKING IN PARKS!!!! - CK
