There is a subtle difference between a Fascist and a Communist.

Same end-game, though.

Maybe calling both "statists" or "pawns of the megabanks and military-industrial complex" would be more accurate.

That is true. What is also funny to me is the Republicans who throw out the "socialist" term while supporting Romney, then don't bother to check and see what the creator of socialism had to say about American policies. Does Mitt Romney oppose an income tax, oppose the death tax, the Fed and its monopoly on capital and currency, the legal tender laws of the Fed, abolishing the FCC and the FAA, and any federal involvement in education?

Here are a few of the planks for socialism in the US according to Marx's The Communist Manifesto:
  • A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
  • Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
  • Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
  • Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the state.
  • Free education for all children in government schools.

Isolationists want nothing to do with another country including trade -- so those who advocate trade embargoes, for instance, are the real isolationists. What we do today with our foreign policy is basically what Woodrow Wilson advocated in making the world safe for democracy.
I trust Mitt Romney will now be receiving all future the donations and support from military Republicians.

Perhaps Paul needs to return their money or turn it over to Romney to defeat Obama.

What makes you think they just wont donate??

I stopped donating to the party years ago-I will donate to individual candidates, but they are few and far between.

There was someone from the R party here in Iowa on the news a couple weeks ago talking about donations being down. You may never wake up,but apparently some are......

The military gave at least nine times as much to Paul because he wasn't the wilsonian interventionist that obama and romney both are. They know Romney isn't going to end the occupations and wars anytime soon and he will continue the bipartisan foreign policy of endless wars and occupation, so why would they give to him? Everyone I know who has been to Iraq/Afghanistan actually disagreed with me before going there about the war when I was against it, but then after they got back they all saw how pointless it was and how many lives and resources we are wasting for reasons that aren't even clear. Why would they donate so much to a person with the same Wilsonian foreign policy of spreading democracy to stone age people?
