Polish Tantal 5.45mm ....Bday gift to myself.
i can give further review, once i get ammo for it and take better pics with range report. i have my Arsenal SGL20 7.62 next to it to compare. as you can see the Tantal has a grey park....but i prefer it over the black paint finish on the Arsenal that you can scrape off with your finger nail.
these are two fine examples of the AK platform IMO. the Tantal is the better value at the moment given the fact that most of these are built on original matching parts kits and are half the cost. Mine came from Interarms, so even though the barrel is not original...it is chrome lined (a must for AKs shooting corrosive ammo). the trigger on it is great! i just ordered 6k rds of 5.45 for this thing....but at .15 cents a round i didnt feel too bad. and that is the real reason i purchased this rifle is the cheap ammo......the magazines however have become expensive and hard to get.....so if anyone has a good sorce.......

Let us know how it shoots. I am expecting a call from Gewehr Werks soon saying my AK-74 is done. I am guessing that the .15 per round was shipped? SOG, Copes, and AIM are all local for me so my per round with state sales tax is 11.6.

So the Interarms Tantals now come with a replacement barrel? I guess they ran out of original barrels. I bought mine 3 or 4 years ago and back then they had their original barrel. How does it shoot?

Great looking Interarms Tantal, they make better Tantals than your average Century model. Does yours have the left side selector?

Damn that looks nice. I ended up putting a beryl hand guard and a ace stock on mine i built up from a kit... that bakelite looks awesome though. Think I might take my buddies off his hands and do something like that.

that is good stuff... Interarms did used to have the orig. barrels. It shoots the "crappy" Russian stuff really well.

yea, i really like what Interarms did. it feels very quality. i want to duracoat mine though because im not a fan of the light parked finish. i think HK semi gloss duracoat is what most people use for AKs.
