Almost there, just need to add some lateral bracing, and a remote re-setter.

I need to hit the scrap steel place Monday afternoon for a 5ft. chunk of 2"x2"x1/4" to complete the other 5 plate rack, got the rest of it fabbed and ready to weld.

I may be building the "Fal fest" steel transport trailer sooner than expected.

Yea, I`m definately aware of the "always miss low" guys.(I`m one of `em).

I`ll check the scrap pile and see what I can do.

I`ll be bringing (2) 5 plate racks over, so don`t sweat bringing any more unless you think ya need to.

Speaking of pistol stages/events.....

We are planning to shoot pistol on Friday? Rifle on Saturday?
If so then how many guys are going to be available to shoot pistol
on friday? Can you chime in please?

I am looking into event ideas. But I kinda settled on a little mini 3 stage
match that would introduce guys to the different kinds of pistol matches??

Cool? Thoughts? Ideas?

This is the "18-rounds in your FAL mags" thread that started all the drama. In Post 54 Outlaw Patriot tells LAV that he "...sure is sensitive...".

Post 55 I tell O.P. that he's a hippie, and that there are people that will beat your ass if you call them a liar, and that he should learn the difference.

While I'm right, it appears that Outlaw Patriot was, too.

I think I'll go ahead and subscribe to LAV's combat TV offering. Not. That was a weird outburst. I'm surprised that a guy with that resume can't somehow let it all roll off like water off a duck's back. If you've been there and done that, do you really have to act like your panties got bunched by some internet chat commandos?

Brunop, sometimes guy's with long resume's have many more "triggers" that set them off and sometimes remembering something because of what some ass hat say's gets the Gyro running wild and unstable?? Some Vets are a bit Narcissistic,,

I wonder if I'm going to ever get my steel from the Mother Of All Group Buys On Steel Targets that that one guy was advertising here and on Snipers Hide. I know I was one of the last purchasers, and I know some of the early guys got their steel. I hope it is before June 22nd...

Jeff is a good guy. He's an armorer in my old National Guard unit, and I've been trying to talk him into attending the FAL shoot for the last couple of years.

I can vouch for his character.

I ordered some, also late. It came the end of last week. Shipped via USPS in flat rate boxes. Very heavy! The postal delivery "gal" was not happy. She would not carry it in from the truck.

BTW, these targets can also be available for the shoot. Just need to know if they are needed!

(4) 8" - 1/2" rounds
(2) 12" - 1/2" rounds
ISPC Torso targets:
(2) 25%-1/2"
(2) 40%-3/8"
(2) 66%-3/8"

There is some more smaller stuff coming.

Hey 4x401,

I've got some pieces of used grader blade which might work for a protective barrier. Only problem is that it gets pretty heavy since it's at least 1/2".
If you want to experiment with some, let me know.

Thanks for the offer. I think you told me about that stuff last year and I forgot. Do you happen to know the dimensions of the pieces you have? I may be able to use them in another way.

As far as the plate racks go, I think I`ve got some 1/4" plate to try first. Trying to stay as light as possible, these things are already heavy enough. My poor truck`s gona have quite a load to haul over this year, especialy with the family coming.

Just got word back on the AR 500 as scrap, NONE available, anything that came off the M113 APC's was removed before the damaged rigs were sent back for scrap and re-used for other vehicles, dang it.

I think I was the one that suggested the pins to begin with...and now I'm planning on riding the bike to the shoot, which makes what I'm about to say pretty lame....If someone brought 4 sawhorses and a couple 4x8 sheets of plywood, we could have a PROPER pin match. I can't do the hauling, but I'll throw some $'s towards the plywood/pins.

Calm down...CALM DOWN Troy.....I'm not trying to worm my way into the handgun match planning...just suggesting a fun "side event" to the competition you're planning and, barring you showing up with yet ANOTHER techno-crutch........will be LOSING!

Thanks Otis! I have not heard from anyone else really, but just wanted to make sure guys could be there friday to shoot. Too much stuff to try and do rifle and pistol on same day. Plus its fun to watch guys shoot. I will post my thoughts on intro pistol stages before we go. Maybe Brunop could make a list of pistol shooters to go along with our rifle shooter classes??

And if Pluskat wants to bring pins as a side/fun deal that sounds cool to me!

Ground is soft enough that you can put stake in with your hand. Won't hold much - including my tent last year...
