In a word, Yes! I personally have built 6 so far with 0 issues, 2 early T1's 2 Argy's and 2 T3's. I have a few more to go but as of now they have been 100%
I could also add the one used T1 that I purchased as a running G1 and used for a StG build, also with 0 issues but it was used.
I have not heard of others have problems either. Just my $.02's

I've built several T3's from Coonan. They went together without issue and shoot great.

I have to withdraw my name as I am bearing down on purchasing a ready-assembled FAL.

Of course, if I HAVE to buy one, I won't cry. I figure since the group buy / manf all got pushed back, maybe I can slip out without hurting the herd. Please let me know if I'm still obligated, it's no problem. Otherwise assuming not.

(Man, I don't even own 1 and I am dreaming of a stable of them: one para, one g1, one l1a1, and then a "safe queen" version of each ....)

No worries if you have to bail, they always figure in a reasonable attrition rate. Get your first one in the safe and the rest seem to come easier.

I'd get one!
I'd like to have a totally correct Brit cut but could live with a Coonan type III cut to look like a brit.

If I had a CNC I would be making correct looking Brit cut receivers!!!Or at least attempting to, it ain't as easy as it looks!

I actually have an Imbel receiver that had the serial # and other markings in places that I could modify it to the Brit style and I did and it looks pretty good, not exact but pretty damn good!
Problem is it's just too time consuming to do on manual machines or I would offer the service.

I was hoping for some info from the Shot show.

Checking coonan's webpage and facebook page only shows the magic of the Coonan .357 pistols. Neat yea, but they're no

Maybe in another month or so. Hopefully.

From facebook, from Coonan to answer my question about updates on the British and Australian receivers.

Tom, we will have an update for you late next week. Several of the Coonan team are taking a much deserved vacation this week after a truly amazing SHOT Show. Thanks for checking us out!

Talked to them today. Coonan got slammed with orders for his pistols at the shot show.
Not planning on any brit cut receivers until the end of the first quarter of this year. As of now.

Nope, i get FB and email messages from coonan inc once in a while. Lots of stuff on what they're up to but nothing on the L1A1 receivers. I suspect way on the back back burner. They want to make .357 auto pistols apparently that's the hot ticket from the big show.

The receiver went from probably around March to sometime in the future.

Anyone know if they will be doing any G1s? Would like to get one with custom serial #s for my BGS kit. Still waiting for my Argy from them. Think they said April for those. Do they have any standard t3s available? Might do my G1 kit on that since it is a non matching beater.

Called Connie today....apparently they had issues getting castings and they also got a rash of orders, so everything right now is going to fill orders/backorders....they are still talking about doing Brit cut stuff and would still like around a 100 orders for them.....

Well that's actually a good sign in my book. They're not trying to make do with the type 3 casting.

Sounds like the comments about the prototypes on the modified T3 really resonated with them. Good sign I say, if they're getting special castings for this.

ah, I see.

I'd like to see what the projected prototype is going to look like. That one proto at knob didn't really warm the cockles of my heart. Of course they said that was not what they intended to sell.

Cool

I didn't make a count thru the pages above but does anyone have a total count from the beginning for these Brit cuts? If we're close I might have need for a few as I have a couple of Brit kits to build for me. I have several Aussie kits ready to part with if anyone needs those and a DSA Aussie cut receiver that would be changed out of a Brit FAL in my safe if these ever came about.
It would be nice to have a Brit FAL in full dress appearance.
