FAL Files Calendar?? (added a link to a PDF proof)

I was updating some company brochures on Vistaprint and came up with the idea of making a 2011 FAL wall calendar if no one else here already does one.

I would be looking for submissions from anyone that wants to contribute a photo for the cause. I think I can get the price at about $13-15 a calendar (advertised as heavy card stock and glossy paper) after printing and shipping and I would not be making any money off of this or we could set it up so we do make a few bucks and then send that money to the files or put it towards the next Falfest or something worthwhile.

I would be looking for high resolution beauty shots and I am thinking of a different variant for each month and if it is ok with whoever sends in pictures I could put the owners screen name along with the variant model number under the picture. We could title the calendar as "FALs of the Files 2011" or something like that if the owner of the board doesn't mind..

If you would like to submit a photo or two send me a PM or email with your pictures attached and your permission to include it in the calendar as well as whether or not you would like your files screen name used or credited. they would only be used once for this calendar run.

I hope LaConservationist doesn't mind using one of his pics as an example but this is what it would look like:

i'd be in for one for sure as long as the calender stays gun related and does not start looking like the cover of a dillon catalog.

i would not have a problem at $20, that'd leave room for compensation of time and contribution to the files....

This will be a "work safe" calendar, unless you work at the post office or the local Brady campaign office.. Besides, I don't have the money to hire the talent that would be needed.

I've got a few good pics coming in, an Imbel, some STGs and a New Zealand L1A1.. Lets keep them coming in.. Need some G1s, other L1A1s, Indians, some Belgians would be nice and even one of the baby poop models would be great.

The pictures need to be very large, 300dpi resolution for them to look good for a print calendar.

I want to try to get one together by the end of the week that I can order as a proof just to make sure that the quality is going to be there, i don't want to do something that looks like it was printed on someones printer at home.

I'm in for one. It'll look great on the wall of my gun room. Super idea, as long as it's just FAL's. You can get girly calendars anywhere and everywhere, but a FAL calendar would really be unique. +1 on the idea. Let us know when and where we need to send the money.

I'm not quite sure I follow your line of thinking here. One hand, you seem to agree with me, on the other not so much.

I own jewelry store. I have a large cross section of people come see me. My favorite guns on the wall every month is a nice reminder of why I works so hard. (maybe someday earn enough extra cash for my long dreamed of G series). But the scantilly clad chickies would be a bad fit for my shop. If it was going to be in the garage, I'm all about it. But I want a callendar where I am going to use it and enjoy it most.

7meg should do the job quite nicely..

Have about 6 months filled up, thought I had an Imbel but I don't. Could use an Imbel/Argy, Aussie, Para, a heavy barrel or two, an Indian, a Belgian of some sort and so on.. A couple guys sent multiple types so if someone else sends in some good pics of some that I already have I could spread it around a little.

So far have a STG, G1, New Zealand L1A1, Brit L1A1, Rhody, Izzy light barrel..

This is a working copy (still needs editing and a couple more pictures added) that I used to order an evaluation copy to be sure that the quality of the paper and the printing is going to be good to go. I am still looking for more submissions for the final version.
