LOCATION: Mid Carolina Rifle Club, Columbia, South Carolina

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all competitors eligible to fire in CMP sanctioned matches.

RULES: Unless modified by this program, current NRA and CMP Rules will apply. Competitors will score and assist the Range officers as required. Use of the plug type scoring gauge is restricted to the range officer ONLY. This is a 200 yard range with no pits. We will provide competitors transportation to and from the targets for scoring and pasting.

ENTRY FEE: $20.00 (Juniors $10.00 – See awards paragraph). If you are a new shooter and do not have a rifle let me know and we will have some loaners and a coach to work with you. New shooters using a club supplied rifle will be charged an additional charge of $30.00 for the 55 rounds of ammo to fire the match with one of these loaner rifles. Please use of loaner on entry information.

ENTRIES: Match Capacity is 48 shooters. Advance registration is recommended. No acknowledgment unless requested. Entries will be refunded if at least 48 hour notice of cancellation is given. The HighPower range has twelve firing points and we will run four relays. If there are enough entries to separate the bolt rifle shooters from the Garand rifles we will separate. If we can do this, those who wish will be allowed to enter two rifles and participate in both Matches for an additional $10.00 Match fee, or if there are open spaces on later relays the same applies on a first come basis.

Rifles: As-Issued Military Rifles per CMP rule 6.3 and “Unlimited and Special Military Rifles per CMP rule 6.4. Rifles per CMP rule 6.4 may be fired but are not eligible for awards.

AMMUNITION: Competitors must provide their own ammunitions. Unsafe firearms or ammunition will be disallowed. New Shooters using a club supplied rifle will have to use supplied ammo for an additional $30.00 for 55 rounds of 30-06 ammo needed to fire the match.

SQUADDING: ALL MATCHES WILL BE SQUADED AT THE REGISTRATION TABLE. Table opens at 8:00 AM. Advance entries honored until 7:45 am. Pits seal 15 minutes prior to firing time. No entries will be accepted after 9:00am.

CHALLENGE: No alibis or refires because of rifle or ammunition malfunctions are allowed.

SCHEDULE: The John Garand Match, Course B, 50 shot match will be fired. The complete course of fire will be completed as each relay comes to the firing stage. All firing will be at 200 yards using the 200 yard SR target. The course of fire will be as follows:

First: slow fire prone with a maximum of 5 sighting shots and 20 rounds for record in a time limit of 25 minutes.

Second: Rapid fire prone from standing, 10 shots in 70 or 80 sec.

Third: Rapid fire sitting from standing, 10 shots in 60 or 70 sec.

Fourth: Slow fire standing, 10 rounds in 10 min.

AWARDS: NRA award points or trophy for Overall match winner in each rifle class. There must be a least 5 shooters in each class to qualify for overall match winner. All Shooters will shoot for the CMP Achievement Award Pins.

To win a CMP Achievement Pin you must shoot the following scores:

Garand

465 and above = Gold
454 – 464 = Silver
435 -- 453 = Bronze

Springfield

466 and above = Gold
455 – 465 = Silver
438 – 454 = Bronze

Vintage:

465 and above = Gold
452 – 464 = Silver
430 – 451 = Bronze

GENERAL: No food service. Bottle Water will be available on the range. There will be no lunch break. The range has bathroom facilities.

With our Normal December Match proceeds.

If range capacity allows you may enter a 2nd rifle for $ 10.00. So if capacity allows you may shoot the M1 match and the Springfield or Vintage Military Bolt Match for a Total of $ 30.00 if you use your own M1. Borrowed M1 user are subject to the extra $ 30.00 for the 55 rounds of ammunition.
