Scope suggestions
My eyes are getting older (along with the rest of me) and want to put a scope on my Sig 556 Classic. I will be shooting in 100-300 yard range and need some suggestions.
The rifle came with the diopter rear sight and a mini-red dot scope, but I want something that will be a little clearer (for me) at further ranges. Cost is a factor but not an overwhelming issue. ACOG, which one or perhaps another brand that is good but not as expensive? Would appreciate any thoughts or wisdom from the members. Thanks, gunfax3 |

Leupold VX-II will do 99% of what you need a scope to do any realistic shooting application.
Things like ACOG's do have a "cool look" factor - but are still nothing really more than a telescope with a crosshair. You decide whether the ACOG features make it really worth three or four times the price of a VX-II. Can't beat the warranty on Leupold gold-ring scopes.

Thanks for your opinion. Price is a consideration but not the overwhelming consideration and value is something that I prize highly. The Vari has a lot of good points, and of course, it is a Leopold/ gunfanx3 |
