Heresy? Comm bloc optic on FAL?

Greetings. Just got my first FAL last week, and am thinking about which optic to choose. My background is with AK's and Saiga's, and I own both a Kobra red dot and a POSP 4x24 that I use with these.

I've been considering a Henzoldt, or a SUIT for the FAL, or even something current, but keep wondering about mounting a POSP with a Weaver base to the FAL. In my experience the Russian scopes are built like a tank, have good optics, and I've become used to the Soviet style range finder and the bullet drop chevrons to account for range right there on the reticle. And on the plus side, they usually don't cost as much as western optics.

Has anyone else used a Soviet style optic on the FAL?
