Fred: Along the Appleseed Trail, growing longer every month and year, "Fallon" stands destined to being unique. Actually, Fallon is simply the closest town on the map. From Fallon you head east along Highway 50, "the loneliest higway in the world" to a vast empty valley not far from being moonscape-like, with no outside power, and a population, as they say of "16 15".

The quietness, the remoteness of this site is amazing, and worth the trip in itself. Be sure to rent one of the "rooms" on site (you'll see the reason for the quotes when you get there ) for one of the most adventuresome experiences on The Trail.

We "Appleseed" out back of an RV park. Out front is Middlegate Station, dating back to 1849 as a station for the Pony Express, and a combination grocery store, bar, restaurant, internet connection (can you believe, high-speed?) - and likely as not the music will be the owner singing and playing his guitar.

This is a time machine to the past, a place so remote that to Fred it's nearly unbelievable - not sure the news we won World War Two has yet reached the valley (there are no power or telephone lines into the valley - I never found out how and why cell phones and the internet worked - microwave towers? Satellite?).

Fallon is not only the Appleseed experience. Fallon is a "West" experience - and I daresay, an experience even for westerners...

This site offers long-range out to 400 yards. We will be shooting, wind allowing the targets to stay on the backers, a full-distance Appleseed on a typical out-West improvised Appleseed range, so bring the big bore as well as the .22...

And I'll see you in Fallon, a stop on the Trail that I promise you Fred will never try to miss!

You can download, print and distribute the flyers below, where ever you travel. The more people on the line, the more shoots we can have!
