Nubie Introduction...

Hey Everyone,

Only 2 days ago I joined the L1A1 "inch" club. I had never specifically heard of this weapon before but I was out shopping for a new rifle (due to the "signs of the times") and happened upon this one.

It says
L1A1 Sporter Cal .308
Receiver made by IMBEL - Brazil
Imported by CAI St Alb VT

If serial numbers are important for information I will post them as well.

I would appreciate any general info you feel like passing on.

There are specifically three things I would like info on:
1. Someone replaced the orignal stock and pistol grip with a thumbhole stock that does not fit correctly, I'd like to find an original style to put back on.
2. The barrel is threaded for a flash suppressor - I'd like to find one of those as well.
3. I am also interested in the possibility of adding a scope at some point in the future and would appreciate info on how to make that happen.

I still have not shot this weapon, but I am in love with it already! I look forward to hearing from you!
