FAL Vortex Problem

I have a DSA Stainless Carbine that has the fluted barrel and is threaded 1/2”x 28 TPI like a AR. Yes, it is a .308. It now has a standard AR type bird cage flash hider.

I wanted to add a Vortex and bought one with the proper, for my rifle, thread. The exit hole was a of course too small. So, I got it reamed .5/16 (.3125), but do you think that this is enough?

I measured the standard Stoll on the front of my StG and it was a whopping .375.

I am wondering if it needed to be reamed larger to prevent a bullet strike. I hate to find this out by trying it.

Anybody have a Vortex designed for a .308. If so, what is the size in that?
