I got in the group buy for the Vector 93 receiver built by SW, and the HK33 kits from Vector Arms that Jayson was putting together. The kits were advertised as very good, so I didn't expect much, and expected to have to replace the furniture when I got it. Everything shipped to Jayson and I had him do the build and refinish for me. I picked up the rifle from my dealer yesterday, and it is absolutely beautiful. Jayson did a terrific job, and the furniture on these kits is a lot better than I expected. I'd rate the lower and the front forearm in excellent condition while the buttstock looks the most worn, but no deep scratches or anything...just a little used. I also had Jayson put on his IGF muzzle brake which closely resembles the original flash-hider on the 33/93. The pictures aren't the best, but it's as good as my camera gets. This rifle is absolutely beautiful. Range test next weekend I hope.

Got mine too, looks great. One thing to do berfore you shoot, swab the bore and clean the crap out of the chamber/flutes. The cosmoline used in the barrels
may have reside in the flutes, a clip or 2 thru it and your cartridges will start to stick, ask me how I know. Also check the rear sight elevation adjustment for free movment. Bill

Through the group buy, the total for build & refinish, parts, US parts, and receiver and shipping was about $1000 without the paddle mag and $1100 with paddle mag release. Pretty good considering HK93s go for much more, and I'll put a custom build by Jayson up against a factory HK build anyday.
Bonk, let us know how the range test goes.

I just got back from the range today..and that hooting and hollering you heard was me. Sorry to those in Arizona, I'll keep it down next time.
The Jayson (IGF) built HK33 shot perfectly! No FTF, FTE or hickups. This gun not only looks brand new, (and you group buy guys know what I mean), I shoots great! It is smooth as silk and the groupings were very tight. I wish I could dump my duty AUG :aug and carry this gun. It is truely a pleasure to shoot. I even popped the 350 meter metal targets. The sights are dead on. For you group buy members who haven't been out with yours yet, you're going to go nuts!! For those who didn't get in on the group buy, do what I just did. Send Jayson an email begging him to do another group buy. I WANT ANOTHER ONE!!!! OK, maybe two but that's it! Let me know what you guys think after your range time. Thanks, Cris: |
