Ball Powder???? Illegal????

I was looking at a website for ammo once and they said the military disassembles its ammo before making it surplus. WHY???? They also said it would be illegal to resassemble it with GI Ball Powder. Is this true? I can't keep up with all those crazy pointless laws.

Could you go into more detail.......on whats legal and whats not? Can I buy ball powder and reload with it? Give some details.

They don't surplus ammo. They seel it to contractor's that can disassemble it, and sell the components, if they want to reassemble it, they can't use the same powder. The powder can be sold as surplus though. It's just stupids rules like the 7 US parts rule. What difference does it make?

Yeah.......one of the Talon plants is down the road from the coal mine I work at ............Tons of 308 ,,,,50BMG,,,,,20mm Oerliken........40mm Bofors.......223 etc ,,,,etc.......They break it down .......sell the components.....Probably the people you seen selling it in Shotgun news and Gun list get it from Talon.....Bob
