magazine fit question
hi guys, have a inch kit that is finally put together. to complete the project i purchased a used (yes i know) century receiver. i got it from the market place. the seller assured me that there were no issues with the receiver and that it was inch cut, it came off of a running gun. i took it out to the range. at the time i only had metric mags. i noted a lot of front to back movement but mag still locked in. every time i shot the mag popped out of the back at the mag release. if i wedged a .22 shell between the mag release lever and receiver the gun ran flawlessly. i since bought 2 inch mags. both fit and lock in but really tight. i have issues with the shells getting pick up upon cycling the action. i think it is the mags but not sure. have any of you guys ran into this? is there a fix that can be done? is the receiver really inch cut or metric? am i stuck getting a new receiver?
thanks again, Henry. __________________ henry37

The metric mags are a "mostly works but sometimes doesn't" thing in an inch cut gun. You may get lucky if you try a few different metric mags.
Or, buy some inch ones. More expensive than metric, but metric prices have been going up so they are getting closer. Once you have your inch ones, sell the metric ones to cover most of the cost (unless you have a metric cut gun as well). |
