Robar Poly T2 and FailZero EXO for FAL?
I have a bolt carrier for my AR 15 that was finished with NP3, teflon coating which provides dry lubricity so little lube is needed and easier cleaning as well. In addition it seems to cycle smoother. Now they have Poly T2 in colors other than nickel. Failzero has a similar product called EXO technology.
Has anyone used these finishes on their FALs or considered using it? The science makes sense to me but I was wondering about real world use of these products. If you haven't heard of them you can google Robar or FailZero. |

In reference to the links you gave me
Apparently, Mark/The Gumplumber worked for Robar and not a fan of the man or his company to say the least. That takes care of Robar in future for me. I wonder what he thinks of the other companies doing these kinds of "lubricity" coatings? I hope he comments.

Metacol III
Metacol III is the best coating in regards to "lubricity" from what I've read. I wonder if coating the FAL bolt carrier and bolt with Metacol III will do the same thing as the Robar coated AR BCGs that Wilson Combat sells now? I like the idea of a 21st century product improving the function of a 20th century machine.
I kind of regret buying the Robar coated bolt after reading the owner is an unethical racist. This is starting to sound like a Arizona Response marketing thread. I swear I haven't been offered any kickbacks. |

You might look at W. Birsdsong. I have some rifles finished by them. It is a great product, world-reknown and reasonably priced.
