where in PA to shoot? eastern PA

have a 1919 and 1917 watercooled for about decade now and never shot them yet. Anybody know where the heck i can shoot these things in Eastern PA?

On Tripod mounts.

here's a pic of the 1919 - don't have any of the watercooled right now.

got a couple other full auto toys too - never shot the Uzi. In fact the only one I've ever shot has been the Thompson.

Me and my buddys take our NFA stuff out to the coal pits near Freeland, plenty of room to shoot. I will keep you in mind the next time we are planning to go.

great - thanks! Is it private land? I assume you have to get permission from someone?

A couple of times a year we get together out near Bedford for the Mason Dixon FAL collectors shoots. Keep an eye on the PA section. I usually take a few NFA items along. We should be having a camp-out weekend in the spring.

Nice toys, OP! Those definitely deserve to be shot.

I wish there were more places here in southern PA (I'm in Lancaster County) but when I want to exercise my fun switches, I have to take them to the family farm upstate. That's a 5 hr drive so it doesn't happen as often as I'd like.
Private land seems to be the most common solution these days.

The pits are open for most of the year, shooting usually on the weekends when the workers are not there. Lots of hikers, dirt bikers and quads, just be careful that you don't shoot them! LOL When the shooting starts they stay out of the area and ride elsewhere.

Just leave the equipment alone and they won't bother you.

We had one visit from the "mine cop", he was ok with us being there, but that day there were a bunch of people riding horses on the property so we packed up and left.

Not sure about this place...doesn't sound like a place I'd frequent, but thought I'd share.
A guy at work talked about a place near St. Clair. They call it the Burma Road range. I went online and found this description:

"Go east on burma rd in st clair off of 61. Maybe 2-3 miles. You will see on the right side of the road what appears to be a apocalyptic wasteland that should of been condemned years ago. You will know you are there when you get out of your car and step 50 years of broken beer bottles. Expect lots of interesting targets! dont say i didnt warn you. 90% of my experiences there have been great. Again this is not a quiet day on the range where you can hone your precision shooting skills with no distractions. Expect a fairly large group on the weekend, and hope they arent totally hammered!"

Hey, I love to have fun, but the place sounds like it might get a little scary sometimes.
Still, we're thinking about taking a day off work when the weather warms up and driving up there sometime mid-week. I figure on, say, a Tuesday morning, there wouldn't likely be many people around...and the ones who might be would probably be sober.

I grew up in York, and was a member of the York Riflemen club and range, but that was a LONG time ago. However, I did recently look them up on line, and the range is still there. I don't know if they have the capacity for belt-feds, or even subguns, or if they allow then, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to find out. They have a 200-yard outdoor ranges and a 50-foot indoor smallbore range on the property. Here's a link to the club website.

Good luck in your search.
