South African Sling Question
Ran across a R4 South African sling recently. Is the last model of this sling compatible with the FAL? The one I'm looking at has the narrow tabs to attach to the swivel. Is this a R4/Galil specific sling?

Yes, it is ment for the R4/Galil but it will fit on a FAL. The first model of that sling had wider tabs to fill up the R1 sling swivel, they were all (or almost all) modified to fit the R4/5/6. You can tell the modified slings because the buckle is wider than the tab that threads into it. I have not seen a real R1 pattern 70 sling for sale in several years.

R1 slings look very similar to a Brithsh Enfiels sling but are the RSA khaki color.
