How do I mount a suit to the top cover?

I bought a suit and it came mounted to a mount for an ar handle. I don't know how to take it off and how to mount to a fal top cover suit mount. Can anyone help?

I'm an idiot, I got the mount off but the top cover seems to be a little wider than the rails for it to fit. The ears have been cut off, and it is going on a metric rifle. Any one else experience this?

Mine was a very tight fit. A little grease and tapping with a block of wood on the back end may help. It's been so long since I mounted mine I can't be specific about how to attach the scope except to say that when you get it right it will be obvious it is properly attached. Just look at everything and go slow and see how the parts mate up.

figured out how to take the scope on and off the mount but this cover seems just a little too big for the rails the cover slides into.

Is your rifle metric?
I ask because I've had tight fitting SUIT dustcover mounts on metric rifles too.
I know Inch & Metric are supposed to be identical in dimensioning, but I've found very slight differences that make the metricised covers a tough fit at first.

I put a little grease in the slots & on the rails for the first few mountings & then clean it & the crud it scrapes off, out after about 6~10 insertions. This seems to improve the fit.

It is supposed to be tighter than a stock dustcover, BTW otherwise the sight wouldn't hold zero. Some have also been a fraction too long to allow the reciever halves to close fully, this is easily fixed with a little gentle removal of metal from the rear of the dustcover.

Rifle is metric, used the dremel to take off some very small burs and a rubber mallet and it went in there. I was able to take it off by hand and reinsert it. Think I'm good to go now!

Glad to hear it worked out for you.
Did you reinforce the infamous soft rivets by tack welding the T-bar to the shet metal cover?
If not take care they can come loose in just a few shots if you're unlucky.

I did not, I don't have the equipment or the knowledge yet on welding. There was a post of someone who fixed their top cover and he mentioned having a build party and does have the equipment. Might give it a go then.
