Fitting a stock to a M1A Rear Lugged Receiver
I recently picked up a rear lugged Springfield M1A receiver and need to know how to adapt the stock to accomodate it. Is there a tutorial somewhere or does someone make a wood stock to fit a rear lugged receiver? Or is it trial and error?

You'll need a heavy stock for best results.
I have machined a few NM wood & McMillan stocks to accept a rear lug. Bedding is also required.

Art Luppino's bedding tape is still around, IIRC from talking to him
the rear was his baby. I think he's still selling his bedding tools. Art's somewhere north of 74 years old now, but still a sharp tack. If you want it done right the first time send it to Warbird. |
