Question Laser sight on a 19

Anybody with a laser on a Glock? What brand? I'm looking for Christmas gift to go on a Model 19 and was wondering about Crimson Trace or another type/brand. I don't think one of the ones that clamp on the trigger guard will work with his holster and carry mode and they look fragile to me. If you have a laser, your opinion would be most welcome.

i had a glock 19 also. and also had a crimson trace grip laser and a laser max interal . both are awesome . both have pros and cons . crimson trace was the easyest to turn on , just squezze grip , very natural . it will be off by a 1/2 inch to a inch cause of its placement . laser max is inline with the bore makeing it the most accuret. but takes a push of your take down lever . i had both on mine at one point . u know 2 is 1 and 1 is none . i recomend the crimson trace . cheaper and user friendly . by the way i sold mine to a friend and it has the first batts in and its still bright enough to see and its been over 3 years . traces are running bout 180.00 or so now . some even cheaper . good luck.

A pointless device on most guns.

If the target is stationary enough and close enough to hold a laser steady on it you can hit the target without a laser.

The laser debate is multi-faceted.

Counselor, may I respectfully submit that however insignificant the actual added benefit of the laser on this handgun may be to the attaining of better shot placement by any particular shooter, the psychological effect on the target may be just enough to deter the need for there to be a shot.

Or so I have heard.

Its an excellent training tool. My dad was having real problems flinching, but wouldn't believe me that it was him and not the firearm. When he used the laser it showed that the POA was exactly where the POI was.

I agree with Bob that it is a good way to scare the crap out of someone.

It's a great training tool, and for those odd shots that would be un-aimed any other time it's excellent.

I've got a LaserMax guide rod model in my G-21 and it's helped immensely between teaching classes and working behind a body bunker (PD).

My buddy has one on his model 30. He has to clean the end of the guide rod every 10 rounds or so. The thing just gets really dirty and eventually covers the lens for the laser with muzzle blast debris. Needless to say he pulled his out and put the stock one back in.

I can honestly say that I never ever want to scare the crap out of anyone with a weapon. That being said, would you think that possibly seeing a laser dot on their body could make them shoot much quicker? If someone had a laser on you, would you crap your pants and throw your weapon down, or would you try your best to defeat the threat ASAP?

I just added a couple of "Insight M-6 Tactical Illuminators" to our G-19's for Christmas. I really like the light and laser combination. While I do consider the laser a psychological tool (threat) to a home invader or threat, I also like the idea of knowing exactly where that round is going. This is especially helpful for my wife is has little experience with firearms.

"Just put the red dot on the bad guy and pull the trigger."

OK...I know it cheating but It's taken me over ten years to get her to pick up a firearm, so every little bit helps. I've also installed an EOTECH on her Bushy for the same reason....it's a tool, an assist if you like.
