Gun Coating Question
Can someone explain the major difference between them all and rank best to worst. I.e - Gunkote, Cerakote, duracote, phosphate? and Diamoundkote. New to this some trying to decipher them all. Also does a certain one work better with mags (preventing the mags from hanging up).

phosphate is park. works well enough for most of the world's militaries before guns were made of aluminum. Grade 1
duracoat is Sherwin Williams epoxy paint. Good enough. Grade 2
gunkote is a good product that is harder to apply, but is very solvent-resistant and durable. Grade 3
cerakote is supposed to be excellent (i have no experience), but you are paying someone to apply it. I'm paying someone to do an expensive bolt gun this winter. Grade 4
I don't know what diamondkote is.
If I had an unlimited pile of money, all my guns would be cerakoted.
