2008 Kingsport, TN (Pathfinders) Appleseed Information
« on: September 26, 2008, 12:01:14 AM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Range: Pathfinders

Address: 4951 Sullivan Gardens Pkwy, Kingsport, TN

Website: www.pathfindersonline.com

When: November 1-2, 2008

Range Fee: None

Comments: This looks to be a fun and exciting place for an Appleseed. It is scheduled to be a 25 meter only event, but there is a chance that we can realize a longer range by the time of the event. Bring your 22, for the 25 meter portion, but consider bringing a centerfire as well, for a future actual distance opportunity.

Look at the photos on their web site, looks like a beautiful location!

Camping available: Yes, on site. Potable water available. No electricity or other hook ups. No showers. $10 fee

Hotels: TBA

Directions: Directions to the Pathfinders Campus: From interstate 81 take I26 toward Kingsport. Exit on Hwy 93/Wilcox Dr. and go south on 93 into Sullivan Gardens. Directly across from the Horse Creek Village you will see our sign, turn left follow signs.

State Laws to be aware of: Check State Laws

Misc: 25 meter only (for now), so this is an opportunity to gain valuable marksmanship skills with your 22. Centerfire rifles welcome, up to 8mm.

Fred: If the name of this club sounds friendly, it's because it is. One of the rare fine examples of a gun club doing what every gun club is supposed to be doing, and should be doing: promoting marksmanship, and thereby strengthening the tradition, and the 2A.

Last year they "went the extra mile" with food on site, an air-conditioned club house, and as fine a shooting facility as you could want.

With current plans to expand to a six-hundred yard range, there will definitely be a long-range component at this Appleseed. (Currently, out to 200; soon, out to 400/500) so bring the big stuff as well as the .22 for as fine an Appleseed as you are likely to find, at a friendly location in the south.

Home of "dirtbag", an RWVA instructor who will surprise you with how easy he can pack your brain with marksmanship knowledge in spaces you didn't know were even empty! (Note: Only his close friends call him that - but you'll be a close friend the first time you meet him! )
