InterOrdnance STG?
Does anyone have one of these in 223? I was kicking around getting a VEPR in 223. From reading about the Vepr, it seems to be the Cadillac of AKs. Perhaps the STG doesn't come close, but how close does it get? Or is IO just polishing up a turd by putting on different furniture and trying to distinguish itself from other AKs on that basis alone?

I got one just to get close to a Wieger configuration. Cool rifle BUT.....they don't have any magazines. I got one with the rifle and it is an original Weiger but they don't have any more for seperate purchase. Bulgarian 223s don't work. Maybe the polish Beryl?
They said to call back in Mid May. IO..what dips--ts! |

If you want a .223 AK, Get a Saiga. Convert it and use 12 dollars Galil 35 round Orlites.

The wholesalers sell a Weiger copy mag, a Clone if you will. I have about 20 of them and they all work perfectly through my two WASR-3 .223 rifles. I have sold about 50 of these mags without a single complaint from my customers.
Look at a site like Century's website for the details. Other than perfect hot bluing these mags are the same as the Weiger.

Is the furniture compatible with other AK's?
In looking at takedown instructions it doesn't look like it. Interesting concept.

I also had a .223 SAR 3. I ended up using KVAR's NATO mags, but they needed to be filed down on the back of the feed lips to fit. Ran like a champ.
If I had known that Galil mags would fit, I'd'a done that.
