Question on FAL build
Ok here it is. I have a inch pattern lower and receiver that I want to build up, the problem is the barrel is ruined. I have a spare metric barrel lying around I was thinking of using but would like to keep the inch pattern gas block. Has anyone ever converted a metric barrel to an inch pattern gas block? If so what needs to be done? I have seen that “Gun Parts Guy” has converted barrels for sell but I’m working on a budget and would like to know how to do this. Thanks in advance.

What is ruined about the barrel?
This really needs to be in the gunsmithing forum on the Files.

The bore is completely shot on the old barrel.

As gunnut1 said, you should post this question in the Gunsmithing section - your question will get more attention there
