is there any tricks to installing a new gasblock?
header says it all, got a nice inch barrel and newly refinished gasblock wanna install the block. i had to cut the old one off. how do i get the new one on.

I would cold soak the barrel in the freezer for 24 hours before I installed the gas block.. you could also heat the gas block up to say 200 in the oven for an hour.. combined might make it easier...

Concur.
The gas block and barrel have a very tight fit. Freezing the barrel for 24 hours will cause the steel to contract. Heating the gas block in the oven at 200 to 350 degrees for an hour will cause the part to expand. You'll have to wear insulated gloves to protect your hands from the cold barrel and hot gas block. When you install the gas block on the barrel, you'll have to do it fairly quick. I'd use a drill bit of the appropriate diameter to help align the gas port of the barrel and gas block. Inch barrels gas blocks/barrels are drilled on an angle. Also, the cross pin for the barrel and gas block is a taper pin. Make certain that you check which way the pin installs.
