ID this Carry Handle
OK, it's probably something stupid that I should recognize. But I don't. I'm thinking it's late Ishapore.

It would appear, according to B.S., UK&CW FALs p. 196 fig. 170 that this type of handle was made by Australia.
Which begs a few questions: 1. Is BS wrong? 2. Was this type made by NZ? 3. Was it ever fielded by Australia for domestic use?

Looking again I am thinking Kiwi due to the depth and angle of the first finger contour. Does it smell on lanolin (that was harsh and uncalled for...but I will leave it in anyway, I have not stirred Kevin up in ages) ?

If you could read, or at least see, the photos in B.S. FAL Bible would show you! And quit taking the mickey out of Kevin!

That's ok Abominog the Aussie needs something to have a laugh at, while they wait for some rain and/or the bush fires to consume them.
Yes you are right the rifle shown on those pages shows this type of carrying handle, unfortunately I can't find a credit for the pic, so I'm not too sure which collection the rifle is from. What I can tell you is I have a pic of NZer's in Rhodesia (1980) and this type of carrying handle on one of the rifles. It's a little hard to read one number in the serial number so here are the possibilities for AD610x767 AD6100767 = New Zealand AD6101767 = Malaya AD6102767 = Malaya AD6103767 = Australian Army AD6104767 = Australian Army AD6105767 = Australian Army AD6106767 = Australian Army AD6107767 = Ghana AD6108767 = Malaya AD6109767 = nil
