US Charging handle recommendation?

I recently purchased a 2nd hand CGW built carbine and am in need of a US charging handle. As Purchased, it has a nice FSE folder but, it will not latch with the Izzy handguards up front that I would like to retain. DSA is back ordered on their model. Are the Sneider ones a good alternative?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thx

Blitz

The Schneider Machine handle from gunthings.com is IMO better than the DSA. Also consider the Tapco Izzy style. It's a solid chunk of steel and easier to install. It is blued instead of Parkerized, that may be of concern. The other Tapco unit is aluminum.

1006587: 2nd that. I like Schneider and Tapco Israeli both. I have DSA also that I never took out of package, so I can't really comment on it. I'm sure it is very acceptable as well.

The SMS op rod is hands down the best - US made.

Make sure you order one that has the detent and catch lug parts.

earlier versions did'nt come with them.

I've got one of Dave's (Schneider's) latest steel charging handles... it is hands down the best quality US charging handle I've ever had.

How is the fit and finish compared to original Stg58 charging handles?

The SM is great - a drop in fit. It is of the brazilian pattern (flat top edge , versus radius top edge)

I have them in black for $55, or parkerized for $50 including the spring, plunger, two pins, and lug

Fit and finish is excellent. Top edge is different as GP points out. Looks great on my Argie.... matter of fact I may swap it out for a DSA on that particular rifle and build a new FAL around the Schneider charging handle!
Dave makes some good stuff...
