nickle plated bullets , what's under the plating? a jacket or lead. barrel wear is probably not an issue. nickle phosphorous plating is an anti-corrosive/lubricant(triton bullets)

They are on ebay (bad word).
Do a search for bullets, they are in .30 cal and .224 at least. Seller is Wlj enterprises. I bought .30 cal frangible ammo from them before and transaction went fine. here is the link for the auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3680974488

I'm wondering if these arent "nickel plated" and are actually cupronickel jacketed ?? Cupronickel is a copper alloy with nickel in it, it appears nickel in color. It's use for jackets in rifle and pistol bullets was pretty common in Europe. I have ammo with cupronickel jacketed bullets in 32acp, 30 Luger, 9mm, 6.5x55, 7x57 & 8x57 and probably more that I cant think of right now. I cant think of any good use for it, besides that it dosent tarnish as bad as plain copper.
Then again, maybe I can As they claim to be Lake City, could these be "pulled" bullets, that were re-sized and then plated to cover any signs of it ?? YOOO VINNY |

I have some Wolf 7.62 that has nickel plated bullets over steel jackets. I thought it was odd. Has nobody else seen these?

The Swiss GP11 appears to have a cupronickel coating on the bullet -- it looks cool. I believe it is steel jacketed, though.

Hey, X-Man, for some reason, when I read your post, I can picture someone going from one circus to the next, and shooting the clowns.

You dont know the half of it,,I have discovered that useing the 12B hand book (Combat engineer) and properly constructing reinforced triple strand wire obstacles around your yard, provides for a safe haven, ( until they learn proper breaching procedures) there big floppy feet get stuck in the wire ,then as easy as shooting fish in a barrell (demonic fish that is)

These are surplus ammo from the Lone Ranger. Little known fact was that he was CIA. This has not officially been declassified yet. He protected us for many years from werewolves and vampires (the wooden bullets on the surp market). This is well documented. I read about it while buying a gallon of milk yesterday.

cupronickle was used extensively in the 20's thru 50's as it is less likely to corrode than copper. only problem is, that it (in some chemistries) reacts with brass and cold welds thru a bonding process. bad news. some chemistries used in the 20's were pure poison.
could be junk pulled bullets from 8mm turk, or any other crap.

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Max remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Jin: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." "How do you know I'm mad?" said Max. "You must be," said the Jin, "or you wouldn't have come here." |
