AIMPOINT 5000 X2 scope...opinions?

Anyone use this scope? Info. that I have found on internet seems extremely favorable...and you can find these scopes complete with rings and lens caps for around $200.00.

The newer 7000 X2 is selling for close to $400.00 online, but the 5000 and 7000 specs are nearly identical.

Prices are good because nobody is buying them. Nobody is buying them becuase it looks like you're sighting through a soda straw. Field of view is horrible.

I wanted to like this thing. It meets my idea of a perfect combat optic that I have been grousing about for a year now. Unfortunately, this is not the answer.
