Stimpy, he used a straight draw knife, a curved draw knife and various spoke shaves to for his round pieces. What I found impressive, besides making wood do things I can't, was how he could push or draw his draw knives to obtain the shapes he wanted. Even more impressive was the curved draw knife held at a pretty steep angle (one hand forward, the other back) and fineness of the cuts he could make by doing that.
