Gorilla Tape is some awesome stuff. I keep a couple rolls around, definitely worth the couple extra bucks per roll. Their super glue it good stuff too (I like the gel).

Another thing that I have found handy is Rescue Tape It is silicone tape that bonds to itself. It can make for a quick patch for a leaky hose. I also use it to seal the connectors on my coax for radio stuff.

Paracord and aluminium tape as mentioned above are handy too. 5 minute epoxy and some fiberglass cloth or tape can be great for some repairs.... and we can never forget the old standby JB Weld

Any of this stuff doesn't take up much room or add much weight.
