reluctant oweners

Tony I think those that are lucky enough to have these guns are probably reluctant to advertise ownership for security reasons especially from the federal government Hi dollar value and personal security is probably a big factor as well

AGG January 23, 2018 14:45

Understandable and have no problem with such concerns--- but for those that really know me, they know that I am legitimate and strongly believe in privacy--- I never ask for specific personal information--- this type of information has allowed me to answer general questions on numbers imported, markings, configurations, etc., on a wide variety of firearms. :)

Thank you-- the SIG AMT and SIG PE57 auctions were withdrawn--- I have information on those rifles!!! :)

Combloc February 07, 2018 11:49

I was talking about the KERN 4x24 scope. Serial Nr. 140289. I'd be all over that if I could afford it. It would look great on a 551!!

Item Nr. 745126405

Is that a realistic price? I know they are rare but gee whiz!

On the Kern 4x24--- close--- but it is missing the rare green case and the more useful PE57 mount--- closer to $4K!!! :)

I spoke to the owner of those rifles which were withdrawn. He took them down because he decided he wasn't ready to part with them. Can't blame him a bit. Anyone who has owned one of those knows how difficult they are to locate.

Way back in the day(I hate using that phrase) my dad had one of the first three AMTs to come into the country. To this day he still kicks himself for selling it.

Tony

Not sure. What I do know is that he bought it for $300 and sold it a few months later for $800. Right after that they stopped importing them for a while and price jumped by quite a bit.

AGG September 10, 2018 09:44

The MSRP for the SIG AMT was $348.00, and $225.00 for the Dr. Wohler 4x7 scope and mount  in the very early 1970's!!! :)
